Despite the wind and rain, we struck out (290 miles) for Killarney National Park and a visit to Muckross House. The Muckross Estate dates back to the 17th century and the first members of the Herbert family. The current house was built in 1843 and is surrounded by beautiful gardens. We were especially taken with the children’s quarters and the multi-room food prep areas. [Sorry, interior photos were not allowed].
Then around the Ring of Dingle, where we braved gale-force winds to peer over the edge at the pounding waves.
