Everybody could agree on the Rock of Cashel, so off we went. Considered the “high king of Irish monuments,” the Rock of Cashel. Originally the seat of the kings of Munster and once visited by St. Patrick, this cluster of medieval buildings includes a round tower, a high cross, a chapel, a cathedral, and abbey, the Hall of the Vicars Choral, and a 15th century Tower House. Brian Boru was crowned High King here in 978.
Chez Hans provided a spectacular lunch and then we poked our noses into Medieval Fethard on our way home.
